2006In the fall of 2006, Pastor Lonnie Anderson, Jr. of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, had a vision for our community: a Christian academy. He brings his idea to the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church congregation and the community of Kokomo. Everyone begins praying.

2007Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church members began praying when a passionate group met to help incorporate the school. The group researched civil rights leaders to determine a name for the school. They encountered the passionate, ever-faithful actions of Reverend F.D. Reese. An American civil rights activist, educator, and minister from Selma, Alabama, Reese was a member of Selma's "Courageous Eight," a group who met in attempts to eliminate discrimination in voting, despite threats of violence. He invited courageous groups and leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr. to Selma to amplify the voting rights campaign. A true believer in the power of perseverance and grit, Reese mobilized teachers in Selma to march for their right to vote, which eventually led to the passage of The Voting Rights Act.
